LISA-MARIE JANKE (Kati) completed her
training as an actor at the Westphalia Acting School Bochum in 2001 and
then performed at the Schauspielhaus Bochum,
the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Munich Kammerspiele and at
the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. At these theaters, she worked with
the directors Armin Petras, Peter Kastenmüller, Stefan Pucher
and Jan Bosse, among others. She has created numerous short films with
the artist Stefan Panhans. In addition, she has acted in short films
and thesis films from the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy,
including ATOME and KIRSCHROT. Lisa-Marie Janke is an avid jogger, does

NILS NELLESSEN (Rob) completed his training as an actor at the Film & Television Academy (HFF) “Konrad Wolf” in
Potsdam-Babelsberg. He has worked as a freelance actor since 1998 and
has appeared in numerous film and television productions. Most
recently, he has appeared in DIE AUGEN VON JONNY DEPP (directed by
Alexander Hörbe), KLEINRUPPIN FOREVER and DIE DATSCHE
(directed by Carsten Fiebeler) and ERSTE EHE (directed by Isabell
Stever). On stage, he last appeared at the Ernst Deutsch Theater in
Hamburg and worked with Johanna Schall at the Deutsches Theater in

ROLAND SANDS (Ike) received his
classical training at the Professional Theater Training Program at the
University of Delaware. He began his acting
career in 1969 with Clay Stevenson at the Soul and Latin Street
Theater. He was worked with the Public Theater at the Delacort in New
York, with the Negro Ensemble Company and has acted in various
television and soap opera roles. Roland Sands is indebted to his
teachers, the late Clay Stevenson, the late Lucille Saint-Peter, Mark
Stone and Dan Hamilton. He would like to especially thank the Buddhist
organization “Nichiren Shoshu”.*

NICOLAI TEGELER (Micha) completed
his training as an actor at the Fritz Kirchhoff Acting School in his
home town of Berlin in 2003. Alongside onstage
roles at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, Theater Magdeburg and the
Hansa Theater in Berlin, he has acted in numerous film and television
productions, including DER TUNNEL, ALARM FÜR COBRA 11, PRAXIS
BÜLOWBOGEN and the feature film DREI STERN ROT (directed by
Olaf Kaiser). Among others, he has worked with the theater directors
Stefan Huber, Dieter Hallervorden and Uwe Eric Laufenberg. He has
performed cabaret for the last two years with the Stachelschweinen in
Berlin. Tegeler produces and directs short films and writes

MYXOLYDIA TYLER
(Liz) is a 2005 graduate from the Brown University/Trinity Rep Consortium MFA program.
She has worked at regional theatres including
Trinity Rep and Syracuse Stage as well as at the Public Theatre in New
York City doing a new plays preview called ON THE THRESHOLD. She
recently played "Addy" in a new play by Cheryl West called ADDY: AN
AMERICAN GIRL STORY at Seattle Children's Theatre. Myxolydia is excited
to work with GTA and enjoyed spending her first trip to Europe in
Berlin for the rehearsal process. She would like to thank God and her

DANIEL BRUNET
(Translator/Associate Director/Associate Producer) studied theater and
film at Boston College, moving to Berlin in 2001 to begin his directing
career with the support of a Fulbright grant. Brunet was the 2003
Director in Residence at the English Theater Berlin, where he also
founded and curated their development series, the Lab. Most recently,
Brunet produced the International WOW Company’s YOU BELONG TO
ME at Performance Space 122 and translated Heiner
Müller’s DIE UMSIEDLERIN for David
Levine’s BAUERNTHEATER project. In the last three years,
Brunet has translated more than a dozen contemporary German plays and
screenplays, including Michael Haneke’s FUNNY GAMES. Now
based in Brooklyn and Berlin, Brunet has been a member of GTA since
2002 and, alongside numerous other projects, served as the Associate
Producer of the STADTTHEATER NEW YORK project.

DAGMAR DOMRÖS
(Co-Producer) studied political science, German studies and American
studies in Hamburg and Massachusetts after training as a publishing
assistant at the firm Gruner + Jahr. She worked as the assistant to
Wynn Handman, Artistic Director of the American Place Theatre in New
York City during the 1997/1998 season. She was employed as a dramaturg
at Theater Heidelberg from 2001 to 2005 (during the artistic
directorship of Günther Beelitz), where she curated the
”Heidelberger Stückemarkt – Forum junger
Autoren” (Heidelberg New Play Festival). Domrös has
worked as a freelance dramaturg, lecturer and producer in Berlin since
2005 and has worked for the Berliner Festspiele, the Spree Agenten and
GTA, among others.

SVENJA GRZYMALLA
(Office Management/Germany) studied German studies and education in
Bonn. She has assisted on numerous theater productions in Bonn, Cologne
and Berlin and spent a season working in the artistic administration
office of the Junge Kammeroper Cologne. After a brief foray into
management, Grzymalla has worked in the artistic and administrative
departments of K&K VolkArt (Berlin) and is the office manager
of GTA since August of 2007.

DIANA INSEL
(Stage Manager/Germany) completed her studies in linguistics,
literature and media studies at the University of Potsdam in 2007.
While still at college, she held several directing and dramaturgy
assistantships at the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Berliner Ensemble and
the Jugendtheaterwerkstatt Spandau, among others. She also worked on
various independent projects at Theaterdiscounter and the
Volksbühne. In addition, she completed a cultural journalism
internship at Theater der Zeit. After ROOF OF GREAT PROMISE, ROAD
THEATER USA is her second project with GTA.

JASON KAISER
(Stage Manager/USA) is delighted to be working with GTA again.
Previously, Mr. Kaiser stage managed the American premiere of Roland
Schimmelpfennig's THE WOMAN BEFORE, which was produced by GTA at HERE
Arts Center in New York. Most recently, Mr. Kaiser stage managed MUCH
ADO ABOUT NOTHING Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Favorite projects include
PRIVATE LIVES and THE BLUE ALBUM at Long Wharf Theatre, THE MAGIC FLUTE
conducted by Victor Borge, two European tours of JESUS CHRIST
SUPERSTAR, and installing "The Gates: Project for Central Park NY,
1975-2005". Mr. Kaiser is the resident stage manager for Jennifer
Muller/The Works dance company in New York.

BIRGIT LENGERS
(Dramaturg) studied theater, film and cultural studies in Cologne and
Hildesheim. She taught as an adjunct professor at the University of
Hildesheim from 1997 to 2002. Lengers teaches as a guest professor at
numerous universities since 2001, including the Berlin University of
the Arts and the Theater Academy of Hessen in Frankfurt am Main. She
moderated the events of the Stückemarkt (New Play Festival)
and the International Forum for the Berliner Festspiele. She is a
correspondent for the "Kulturmanagement Network" and deputy chair of
the German Dramaturgical Society. Her writing has recently been
published in “Text + Kritik” and “Theater
der Zeit”. She has worked as a dramaturg and producer for
THEATER T1. Birgit Lengers has worked as a dramaturg for GTA since
2004.

MALVE LIPPMANN
(Costume Designer) studied stage design at the State Academy of Visual
Art in Stuttgart under Professor Jürgen Rose. She has worked
as a freelance set and costume designer at theaters including the
Deutsches Theater and Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, the
Bühnen der Stadt in Cologne, the Schauspiel Haus Graz and the
Staatstheater Mainz as well as at operas including the Staatsoper Unter
den Linden in Berlin, the Opernhaus Graz, the Opera la Monnaie/de Munt
in Brussels, the Staatsoper Darmstadt, Oper Linz and the
Schlossfestspiele Schwetzingen. Lippmann frequently collaborates with
the playwright and director Jenny Erpenbeck. In addition, Lippmann
creates installations and displays for exhibitions and is a production
designer for films. She previously worked for GTA as the scenographer
and costume designer for the project STADTTHEATER NEW YORK in 2006. For

RONALD MARX
(Director/Producer) was born to German-Jewish parents in New York and
grew up in Germany. He studied psychology and acting in
Düsseldorf. He acted under Hans Günther Heyme at
Schauspiel Essen in the 1992/1993 season and then in Salzburg and
Gießen. At the same time, he began acting on German
television. Marx founded GTA in 1996 with Christian Kahrmann and
Jarreth Merz and continues to serve as Artistic Director and Producer.
Marx is responsible for the conceptualization and realization of all of
GTA’s projects. With GTA, Marx has appeared in numerous
readings and 2006’s production of THE WOMAN BEFORE, directed
by Daniel Fish, and directed A IST EINE ANDERE for the PLAYSTATION
Festival in Düsseldorf and Adam Rapp’s BLACKBIRD in
the RED EYE SERIES as well as over 40 readings at the GTA Shop in
Berlin.

CLAUDIA ROHRMOSER
(Video Art) was born in Salzburg, Austria and studied multimedia arts
at FH Salzburg and media art/documentary film at the Berlin University
of the Arts. Her animation and video work has been presented
internationally, including the Inventionen Festival in Berlin, the
International Computer Music Conference in Barcelona and Singapore and
at Stanford University in California. Rohrmoser has received numerous
media art scholarships and grants. Her collaboration with the composer
Kotoka Suzuki, UMIDI SONI COLORES, was awarded the first prize in
multimedia at the 2004 Bourges Electroacoustic Music Festival. Together
with Marcel Schobel, she won the Salzburg regional media art prize for
the Heimatfilm/live performance SCHNITZEL WITH NOODLES AND CRISP APPLE
STRUDEL. Rohrmoser lives and works in Berlin and teaches animation at

MARTIN ROHRMOSER
(Sound Design) was born in Salzburg, Austria. After attending the
Musischen Gymnasium and the Higher Technical Institute in Salzburg, he
has studied electrotechnology audio engineering at the University of
Technology and University of the Arts in Graz, Austria. In addition, he
has worked as an audio technician on numerous film and television
productions and recently worked for Austrian Radio at the Salzburg
Festival. He has worked as the live audio technician for the a cappella
group “Ois Voice” in Graz since 2004 and produced
their debut album in 2006.


ROLAND SCHIMMELPFENNIG
(Playwright) At 35, he is one of the most produced contemporary German
playwrights. His name is on the playbills of the most prominent
internationally renowned theaters from Hamburg to Paris
– Roland Schimmelpfennig. A name that has truly become
something of a trademark of contemporary theater. (Bühne)
Roland Schimmelpfennig was born in Göttigen in 1967 and, after
a lengthy residence as a journalist in Istanbul, studied directing at
the Otto-Falkenberg-School in Munich. He then became an assistant
director at the Munich Kammerspiele and joined the theater's artistic
staff in 1995. He has worked as a freelance writer since 1996. He spent
a year in the United States in 1998, where he worked primarily as a
translator. In the same year, he received the Schiller Memorial prize.
Roland Schimmelpfennig worked as a dramaturg at the Schaubühne
in Berlin from 1999 to 2001 and was playwright in residence at the
Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg during the 2001/ 2002 season. Since
2000, Schimmelpfennig has been working on numerous commissions from the
Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Staatstheater Hanover, the Burgtheater
Vienna, the Schauspielhaus Zurich and the Deutsches Theater in Berlin,
among others. He lives in Berlin.

MARCEL SCHOBEL
(Video Art) was born in Bregenz, Austria and studied architecture at
the Vienna University of Technology, multimedia art at the University
of Salzburg and experimental film design at the Berlin University of
the Arts. He founded the VJ collective Renegadez in Salzburg in 1998.
He has worked as a freelance moving image designer and artist in Berlin
since 1999. His installations have been displayed at Steirischen Herbst
in Graz, at the Klangwerkstatt in Berlin, in the Monsun Theater and
Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, as well as the Mabadaa Theater in Jerusalem.
Marcel Schobel has produced various websites, CD-ROMs, DVDs and
commercial animations. He has been able to conduct additional projects
in Berlin in the last few years with the support of the DAAD and the
Berlin Capital Cultural Fund. Schobel has received multiple awards for
his artistic work. In 2006, together with Claudia Rohrmoser, he won the
Salzburg regional media art prize for the Heimatfilm/live performance
SCHNITZEL WITH NOODLES AND CRISP APPLE STRUDEL. For more information,

ANDREA SCHWIEGER HIEPKO
(Press Agent/Germany,
schwieger@g-t-a.de) studied French, Spanish and Latin American
literature in Berlin, Paris and Barcelona. She wrote her doctoral
thesis on the topic of cultural theoretical questions of globalization
at the FU Berlin. In this context, she taught at the FU Berlin and
Denver University and is the author of numerous academic and
journalistic articles. As a press agent and publicist, she has worked
for theaters (Berliner Ensemble, Schaubühne am Lehniner
Platz), art organizations (the Professional Association of Visual
Artists and numerous exhibitions) and science organizations (the
Brandenburg Academy of Science: European Forum). She has been
GTA’s press agent in Germany since 1999.

EVA-KAREN TITTMANN
(General Manager) earned her Master of Arts from the Freie
Universität Berlin in theater and German studies. In addition,
she completed a certified continuing education course in management,
marketing and communication at FH Potsdam in 2005/2006. She is the
managing director of the act Media Support GmbH and on the board of
directors of the Regional Association of Freelance Theater Artists in
Berlin, the art association art.passages e.V. and a member of the
artist group ifunk. She has worked in the areas of production, project
development, project management, accounting and publicity for lunatiks
produktion, the Schiller Days of the National Theater of Mannheim, Gerd
Schneider Gesellschaft, solo tunes theater production, Gregor Seyffert,
the Long Night of Museums, Shakespeare Company Berlin, the Summer Opera
of the Humboldt University and the Orphtheater.
